At the close of trade, a pair of €55,000 geldings, by Shantou and Noroit (Ger), respectively, topped the Tattersalls Ireland July Store Sale on Wednesday.
Railstown Stud consigned the son of Shantou out of The Princetonian (Ire) (Oscar {Ire}) (lot 77) and he was purchased by Hamish Macauley Bloodstock/Ballycrystal. His dam is a full-sister to Cheltenham listed winner Rock On Ruby (Ire) (Oscar {Ire}).
Already named Kow Boy Sivola (Fr), (lot 236), the Noroit (Ger) gelding was offered by Liss House. John McConnell shelled out €55,000 for the full-brother to Funambule Sivola (Fr) (Noroit {Ger}), who won the G2 Game Spirit Chase twice and was second in Cheltenham's G1 Queen Mother Champion Chase.
Just under the two top lots was Krishna Bellevue (Fr) (Buck's Boum {Fr} (lot 69A). Part of the Brown Island Stables draft, the gelding went to David Phelan on a bid of €54,000. This is the extended family of Othermix (Fr) (Linamix {Fr}), who was placed at listed level at Cheltenham and and won the G2 Prix Amadou Hurdle in France, as well as being placed in the G1 Prix Cambaceres 3yo Hurdle.
Of the 268 lots through the ring on Wednesday, 192 sold (72%) for €2,610,300. The average was €13,595 (-9.1%) and the median was €11,000 (-6.4%).
